My girlfriend left me, and I've had my eyes fixed on an afterglow of what we had, unable to look away. I've hoped for nothing but us to be reunited. Maybe this time I can remember there's no way back down there, there's nothing behind me but scratching on my retina.

I've liked this song for a while, but I couldn't really think of anything else. This is the best Beirut song.
