That's not my favourite song in Benjamin Clementine's debut, but it's the one most often played on Greek radio, so it keeps popping up in my mind the past weeks. Op de hoes van het album lijkt hij zich af te schermen van nieuwsgierige blikken door met zijn rug naar de kijker te staan voor een rood (Engeland) en blauwe (Frankrijk) muur. In zijn hand een appel, die symbool staat voor wie hij is. Clementine: "Die appel is alles wat ik heb. Met hem kan ik overleven, hem kan ik eten."

Bit late to the game, but this is merely one example from the most heartbreakingly emotional and skilfully intelligent album I’ve heard in years.
