Memories of You by Benny Goodman
“Going back to my love of Big Bands of the 30s and 40s. Rosemary Clooney & Benny Goodman - Memories of you (Razaf, Blake) This version contains the vocals by Rosie. "Memories of You" is a jazz standard with lyrics written by Andy Razaf and music composed by Eubie Blake and published in 1930. Doc Severinsen and the NBC Orchestra performed a moving, melancholy instrumental version on the final airing of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, May 22, 1992. The song played over a five-minute "scrapbook" tribute montage showing brief silent clips of some of Carson's favorite guests - seen interacting with the host through the years.”

At age 71 in 1980 when this video was made, Benny Goodman doesn't sizzle here like he once did. Nonetheless, he still displays remarkable and seemingly effortless mastery of his instrument as he performs this fan favorite. One of the true giants of 20th century music, the King of Swing.
