Memories of listening to John Peel in 1984
Until this weekend I'd never heard this album. I can't stop playing it. It's absolutely entrancing.
Just a wooer.
Stumbled on this while going through Youtube playlists of Festive Fifty countdowns from the John Peel show. This song made the 1984 list and was one of only two singles released by the Belgian art pop act Bernthøler. When I came across it, I couldn't believe there was a song this great that not only failed commercially, but had become rather obscure (outside of John Peel obsessives and Belgium). It is absolutely stunning from start to finish.
