#copyright song number 4...Nobody beats the Biz??? In 1991 Gilbert O'Sullivan sued Biz for copyright infringement. The Judge not only quoted the bible..."Thou Shalt not steal" during his conclusion he also said Biz should be open to criminal charges for STEALING! woh! Biz had to pay up $250,000 and thankfully there were no criminal charges. This all happened not too long after De La Soul had to pay the Turtles 1.7 million for a sample of "You Showed Me" that was used on the Three feet high and rising album. I have also included below my own Copyright case - well this was never brought to court but I thought this song was ripped off of a Go Go group in the DC area Called Rare Essence that I heard years ago (during my travels) Well anyway check them out if you can stand the rap version chorus, if not just trust me.
