I Wanna Get Better by Bleachers

“It's rare when a band member leaves the band he/she had incredible success with to work on a separate project and it does so well. Chalk a win for Jack Antonoff. After departing from the all-encompassing circa 2012 shadow of fun. and stepping back in the lead role with the band Bleachers, he has hit his stride in a way that dwarfs his friend Nate Ruess. "I Wanna Get Better" is something honest, much like fun. songs, but in a younger and more immature way. Immaturity isn't necessarily a bad thing. With Antonoff, it's more about the psychological pains and ennui that the high school/college crowd feels. "I Wanna Get Better" isn't going to revolutionize anything in the music industry. Heck, it isn't really well-written. However, I feel the Nate Ruess train has been pumping the brakes lately, and from his shadow comes the band Bleachers, striking with the iron hot. Time will tell to see if this project can become the next big thing of 2014/15. My hope is a resounding and face breaking yes.”

Probably needs a warning for drugs, depression, and suicide. THAT SAID... go-to feel-better song.
