Nightfall In Middle-Earth is probably Blind Guardian's magnus opus. Thorn isn't the best song in the album, but it's very notable within it, particularly given the lyrics. The album's theme is dark enough, but Maeglin's betrayal of Gondolin and his reasons for it make for a pretty damn bleak -- albeit awesome -- song. :)
