The sound of a billion post-rockers laying down their limited edition all-black Epiphones in defeat.
This whole album melted my mind back in the late 90s- the Boredoms were the gleefully dissonant anarchic deconstruction of all the rules I used to think music was governed by-- but by the early 2000s they had transitioned into a sun-worshipping drum circle. This is the first album to show those later influences, and the last to really have some of the crazy spirit of their earlier work. It's magic to my ears.
While I think comparisons to Damo Suzuki are kinda justified, The Boredoms really are their own special thing
Super to me too.
Amazing build up/release
I was blown away by this album from the first listen. A fun and frantic mix of space rock, noise rock, alternative rock, and krautrock all colliding into a supernova of sound track after track after track. It's quickly become one of my all-time favorite albums.
