I'm back. :) Monika Brodka is a Polish singer and songwriter born in 1987 in Żywiec, a town in south-central Poland. She comes from a musical family. She started learning to play the violin at the age of six. She was also singing in folk groups but her first love was jazz, it made her try improvisation which she really enjoys. She won the third series of Polish Pop Idol in 2004 and gained fame.She has since released 3 albums, including the 2010 album Granda which received critical acclaim in Poland and abroad. Brodka has received several nominations to Fryderyk award. These awards are presented by the Phonographic Academy which associates nearly a thousand Polish musicians, authors, composers, record producers, music journalists and the recording industry.
