I'm not the hugest Bruuuuuce acolyte but I do enjoy a lot of his work. For reasons mainly of my own soft nature I bought the new 'High Hopes' album in its vinyl granduer on Monday. It is really quite good. I remember the soft version of this song and it's classic Boss (billionaire sings blue collar blues - but really well). This version is great, Tom Morrellos guitar antics are extreme in the max. Give it a go.

Fantastic, from 6:49 onwards a lesson of guitar soloing, only guitar player that reminds me of Hendrix
Bruce Springsteen with Tom Morello on lead guitar is nothing short of brilliant. Easily my favorite recording of this song.
It's subtle, but if you listen carefully you might pick up on Tom Morello's influence on this new version...

When I saw this was on "High Hopes", I thought it was just a re-hash of an old song, but... what a re-hash! Springsteen doesn't just give it a new lease of life, he re-creates it. Marvellous.

Now Tom said "Mom, wherever there's a cop beatin' a guy Wherever a hungry newborn baby cries Where there's a fight 'gainst the blood and hatred in the air Look for me Ma I'll be there Wherever there's somebody fightin' for a place to stand Or decent job or a helpin' hand Wherever somebody's strugglin' to be free Look in their eyes Mom you'll see me."
