I first got reacquainted with Cab Calloway via the thee Betty Boop cartoons he was featured in, and they were all at least moderately supernatural in nature, so Cab is always a bit spooky on my mind, even when his song isn't concerned with the post mortem conclusion of the tale of Minnie's druggie boyfriend, Smokey Joe.
