This, from the No Nukes concert of '79, is one of my favorite rock and roll "moments". Here's what I think was going on. Carly and James were probably fighting, or at least out of sorts with each other. Whatever. At the beginning James is a little apprehensive, not knowing what to expect, and he looks startled when Carly comes flying onstage, her vocal at full throttle. It takes him a while to relax and become completely at ease and begin lending some real energy to the performance himself. It's this fierce, tight performance for the last minute or two, with two folks who really loved each other just lettin' her rip, that ranks right up there in all RnR history. (The whole No Nukes concert was really something, BTW.) #magic   2
