Best of 2012: Carole King, with her then-husband Jerry Goffin, and at least a dozen others (Doc Pomus, Neil Sedaka, etc.) were an integral part of American rock and roll in the late 50s, early 60s. Working out of New York, they gave America its voice. In the late 70s, King became a star in her own right, but this 2012 album, Legendary Demos, reveals why. Demos were recorded by the writer to play for the artists (in this case Dave Berry and, later, The Monkees) so that they could hear the tune as it was meant to be. This is but a short sample of this awesome tune by this prolific artist.
