Cathal Smyth's (aka Chas Smash) album reflects deep & profound emotions which by David Godin's definition makes it a soul record. Sounds about right.
Cathal Smyth, a naturally talented musician and gifted songwriter of the current generation never fails to deliver excellent contributions to the albums born out of his role as multi-instrumentalist and co-front man of Madness. Madness were, and still are a highly talented, larger than life band who boast a career in the industry that spans 35 years and it comes as no surprise that Cathal (aka Chas Smash) is such a big hit on his own. Outside of his work with Madness he has now presented his debut solo album A Comfortable Man. You are not alone is the first track on the album that i had the pleasure of reviewing before its release.
