Heard Chris Wood sing this live last night, for about the tenth time. It's still almost too powerful to sit through.
8 years ago today Jean Charles de Menezes, was shot dead by the London police, misidentified as one of the terrorists connected with the July London bombings. Singer-songwriter Chris Wood tells the story in song.
Today marks ten years since the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes, wrongly identified by the London police as one of the fugitives involved in the previous day's failed bombing attempts and two weeks after the London bombings of 7 July 2005, in which 52 people were murdered.

This moving song gives me chills every time I listen. It relates the tragic killing of Jean Charles de Menezes, who was shot dead by the London police 9 years ago today, misidentified as one of the terrorists connected with the July London bombings. It is worth hearing in its entirety.
