This album has really stood the test of time. Actually think I like it more now than I did in the 90s.

Album #1...Every now and then, a band releases a first album that is so stunning, anything they do after it, is rendered virtually anticlimactic. IMHO, one such, was the 1993 effort, 'August & Everything After' by Counting Crows. Don't get me wrong, I bought the next 3 albums and loved them all, but somehow the intensity of that first release was impossible to recapture. The curse of the first album...Anyhoo, this track is simply haunting and beautiful. To be honest, I could have picked any track. They're all magnificent. Dear Crows, thank you for one of the albums of my lifetime. Mr Duritz, perform for the Jamsters...
