Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie

“I added this, so as I can pick it for my 'eternal jam'. I really had to think about this, because so far my posts on 'thisismyjam' cover about 5% of my music tastes, which go from the most extreme metal to the lightest ambient, with literally everything in between [except country and western :) ]. But this song is the most special song to me. It's the *first* song I ever loved, even before I got my first album, the blondie album. This song takes me back to grade 4 as clearly as if it was yesterday. And to this day, Bowie is one of my ultimate artists, this album is one of my ultimate albums, the sound is still unique and fresh today as it was then, and the lyrics to this song still blow me away (now I understand them, something my 9yo self didn't!) I need to post more to thisismyjam, (I could post a few songs a day from my 5000+ album collection) but this is the one worthy of being my eternal jam.”

OK, my #47 album is Scary Monsters by Bowie. I couldn't jam the track I really wanted but this will do nicely (perhaps I'll try for the other one on LetsLoop eh?)   4

I don't know what it is about this song, but I will buy any cover version of it that I become aware of. With so many other great Bowie songs, I am mystified by its effect on me.   17
