Round and Round by David Bowie
“This was the B-Side of the first single I asked my parents to buy for me (I was 6). I first heard this forty years ago. My partner heard this for the first time the other night (straight after we were playing the Chuck Berry original) and said - "Bowie does pub rock". She's right - it's brash, simple, old-fashioned - but it still warms the cockles of my heart - and yes, I prefer it to the original. The reason (for me) why it wasn't on that misguided effort called "Pin-Ups" is that it outranks anything that's on it.”
