The latest two albums of Dinosaur Jr ("Farm" and "I Bet On Sky") are rotating on a regular basis in my playlists. Though I'm not that fond of the earlier albums, since they got together again after disbanding for a few years, their style took a melodic turn which I really dig.
The other day, Recognition popped up in my car and it stayed in my head ever since like the good earworm that it is.
For once, this one has not been written by Jay Mascis but by Lou Barlow. You can tell because the lyrics are way less vague than on Jay's songs (he's known to express himself more in his solos than in his lyrics). The two guys have a strange relationship, and have trouble communicating with each other (hence the split a few years ago). But on a musical basis, they are pure golden alchemy.
