Germany had their 'purple patch' at #Eurovision during the late 1970s and early 1980s - here is their amazing tribute to Genghis Khan in 1979...

#DictatorsWeek. Germany's 1979 Eurovision entry, it came fourth but was a big European hit, and was massively successful in Germany. (Drove me mad during my summer holiday there!) Genghis Kahn was a hit of a different kind, it's estimated he killed 40 million people or 11% of the world's population in his Mongolian raids, but according to a genetic study approximately 35 million men living today are his direct descendants.
