#bandnameorigins numero uno...Duran Duran took their name from the bad guy in the 1968 film Barbarella. In the 41st century Barbarella is sent to find scientist Durand Durand who has some kind of death ray that could end all of humanity. So they pick this name instead of another perfectly good character in the movie called Dildano??? Movie trailer below.
