Subjected to a Beating by Dying Fetus
“After many bands have put their on twist on this brutal style of technical death metal, Dying Fetus comes back to sit the kids down and teach them a lesson: the lesson being how this shit is done right. The band may not put their own twist on this type of music, but they are just so fucking brutally heavy, it doesn't matter. 'Subjected to a Beating', from their most recent release, "Reign in Supreme", is a nice example of this. John Gallagher makes death metal sound easy to play, what not with his low-pitched snarl, and his solo deliveries. Trey Williams as the new guy on drums also is quite impressive. This makes for some very enjoyable, political technical death metal, that occasionally gives a quick dosage of grindcore.”
