#brainwashing number 2..In keeping with my theme of brainwashing after watching the Documentary on Scientology... Grammy Record of the year 1977 - Hotel California by the Eagles. The Band claims that this song is about American excess and the dark side to the American dream... the band didn't even go to the award show because Don Henley didn't believe in "contests" so they stayed home and rehearsed. The Hotel on the album cover is the Beverly Hills hotel and the shadowy figure on the cover? A model who wandered onto the shoot. Whatever the controversy, this song made it to number 37 on the Rolling Stones list of 500 of the best albums of ALL time. See one of the lyrics in question below.
