Really clever lyrics by Guy on this. One of my favourite Elbow songs.
Some of the most poetic lyrics I've ever heard. The lines from this song have haunted me for years.
beautiful lyrics, wonderful music, and a genuinely sweet and kind hearted frontman with a stunning voice. i've seen them three times now; the first was on goldfrapp's NA felt mountain tour which was--a long time ago. they opened for her and i had no idea who they were at the time, but i fell in love immediately.
it was guy's birthday and we all drank a toast to him, and the knitting factory in LA (no longer there) was so small--that night was pure magic.
when things are rough, this is the band i listen to. guy's voice is like medicine for my heart.
