My study of Ella Fitzgerald's complete first two decades of recordings (1935-1955) continues; I've spent time with nine volumes this year. This Frank Loesser composition has a long history and it seems like hundreds of people have covered it. Here's Ella's 1949 take, with Arkansas-born bandleader Jordan as her vocal foil.
