Give Me Back My Hometown by Eric Church

alivermo’s jam on 24 Mar ’14 (See all)

“This song has a deeper meaning than one may think. The tempo is romantic, describing a love interest who skipped town, however Eric Church is continually haunted by the ghost of his love interest and the memory of everywhere they used to go. Opening in a funeral and going back reminisicing about the past. All he wants is his home town back. This is capturing the emotions of living in a small town and the scars that are given.”

I chose Give Me Back My Hometown by Eric Church because it resembles the town that I grew up in. I grew up in Texas and the town is very community oriented where everyone knows everyone. I like Eric Church because he is in the Country genre, Southern Rock genre and sometimes Bluegrass.
