“Another jam with a bit of background as to why I chose it. I bought this concert on VHS at the time I was discovering jazz. I bought (and love) the soundtrack to 'Mo' Better Blues' around the same time and was searching for similar stuff to listen to. Harry Connick was popular through 'When Harry Met Sally', so I bought it. I'm not saying he's my favourite jazz pianist but the late teen/early 20s me that didn't know much about jazz thought he was cool as hell. My tastes have broadened since I first heard this but this track - and whole concert video - remains one of those pieces of music that stand out for me. If you like Harry Connick as a musician, have a listen to his trio's 'Bayou Marahajah'.”
