Nilsson wrote this song for Midnight Cowboy. They decided to go with his cover of Everybody's Talkin' instead, which they had been using temporarily for that iconic scene. Also interesting to note, The only Grammys Nilsson ever won were both covers: Everybody's Talkin' and Without You.
