One of the best of 2013
Been listening to The Inheritors for the last couple of weeks, and it's clear James Holden is one the most interesting artists around in electronic music, or any genre for that matter. As most reviews pointed out its a techno album pretty much devoid of any techno. But despite its eclecticism it's easy to listen to and never gets boring despite it's fairly epic runtime - this is the penultimate and longest track, and also possibly the most straightforward. I could have picked a few different tracks from the album but I went with this because the first time I heard it I was walking home and I was pretty much mesmerised. And I had visions in my head similar to the video this comes with would you believe, I've seen a few of those in my time. British electronic music is absolutely booming but our friends at the mercury music prize have chose to completely ignore that. Better luck next year maybe...
