Grubby, cynical, brilliant.
Heard this last week for the first time, and was instantly hooked! Songwriting at it's best I think. Ostensibly very simple, yet it builds throughout to quite a passionately powerful ending. I luv the atmosphere of both the video and the song, sort of down and dirty gritty black and white, with a distinct overtone of menacing. Good stuff from a band I'm not at all familiar with, but will be checking out further.
Saw John Bramwell play this song live for the 2nd time last night. Never heard the original but the song is in my head like I've known it for years - after just 2 listens! Great song! So here's the original.
