I had an eighth of a second to wonder if he got the joke.
I've been listening to this album daily (or more) for the past 10 days. It's lyrically incredible, and will be one of my Top 5 albums of the year. It's difficult to pick just one song to share -- here's one that I initially overlooked that has kept growing on me.
I'll be seeing Isbell at two festivals this summer, the first being Clearwater this Sunday -- I can't wait!

Great song from a great album.
My album of the year so far. Absolutely stunning songwriting to go with his vocals which are still thick and sweet as molasses. Probably the best stuff that he's put out - on par with Decoration Day and Outfit from his DBT days.
Jason Isbell's "Southeastern" is easily one of my favorite discs this year.
