Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Jeff Beck

“I've never been one to gravitate towards the work of Jeff Beck. I grew up on Eric Clapton and George Thorogood. Beck seemed like this far off entity of musical virtuoso that I could never comprehend fully. However, know that my eyes are slowly opening. This piece shall serve as the catalyst. It's not just the fact that the man covers "Over the Rainbow" by the indomitable Judy Garland. In doing so, he creates the old adage. He makes a guitar sing. I've heard guitars wail, cry, choke, and vomit. Rarely does one sing. Combine this with a simply delightful backdrop of string quartet and piano, and this song hits all the right notes for me. Bravissimo, Mr. Beck. I look forward to our next meeting.”
