It was the main theme for the Joel Schumacher's 1985 film St. Elmo's Fire. *St. Elmo's fire (also St. Elmo's light) is a weather phenomenon in which luminous plasma is created by a coronal discharge from a sharp or pointed object in a strong electric field in the atmosphere (such as those generated by thunderstorms or created by a volcanic eruption).
Local pub got a video jukebox around the time this was charting. Got far too many plays!
I listened to this in the Taco Bell drive thru this weekend. I bought into Taco Bell marketing and was getting Nate Robinson giant tacos to eat as I watched March Madness. True story.
Our initial reticence re putting our Ford Mustang's top down ebbed away in Malibu when this came on the radio!
