Joaquín Rodrigo Vidre, 1st Marquis of the Gardens of Aranjuez born in Valencia was almost completely blind before he was three years old, from diptheria. He was a virtuoso pianist, never learnt how to play the guitar, yet this piece is possibly one of the most famous guitar pieces by a Spanish composer. It was written in 1939. John Williams, himself a virtuoso guitarist is generally better known for all of the film scores he's written. But brilliant guitarist he is. Listen. Love. #myclassicalweek   4
