OK, people, I promised you a treat and here it is. This is the peerless Julie Driscoll giving the treatment to this Richie Havens classic. Don't know who Havens is? Go and find out. You'll see him as the strange hunched figure holding the Woodstock crowds to attention, or you could try Grace of the Sun as an accessible mix of old and new songs. Anyway, here is a powerful – muscular – rendition of this song which is of its time and yet timeless. To me, at least. Dig it, baby, it's groovy.
