In anticipation of seeing King Crimson live in September I've been plugging the gaps of mines in their '69-'74 phase, with Larks' Tongues in Aspic proving itself a jewel in the fog of their expansive and oft-confusing history. Whilst I feel I should be visiting some of their more recent stuff like THRAK to get a feel for what will likely dot their setlist, I just can't help myself coming back to this album for the jazzy textures of its eponymous tracks and the soothing lyricism of Exiles...
N.B. As ThisIsMyJam is sadly pulling down the shutters (just as Last.fm is so rabidly trying to slam down its own ones as of late) I really have no place to redirect anyone who wishes to keep up with my 'tracks of the week'. I've had a dormant Tumblr for a while though and can foresee myself sprucing it up after a few months, so if you want to see me popping up on your feed some day, back in a weekly format, then please follow me at: http://lewwatt.tumblr.com/
If I recognise you, I'll follow back.
