“This song is as great and enigmatic as Stairway to Heaven or Hotel California but not nearly as well known. Kudos to mexican director Alfonso Cuarón for including it in his visually stunning 2006 film Children of Men. a truly majestic piece of music. "The purple piper plays his tune, the choir softly sing; three lullabies in an ancient tongue, for the court of the crimson king."”

King Crimson was an unfortunately less celebrated Prog Rock band than Yes or Genesis, but there's a certain attractiveness to the darker brooding lyrics that the others lacked. I prefer the earlier iterations of this band to the 80's version. I think it might be the copious Mellotron.
