Picked up tix to see KOL & Gary Clark Jr w/ some friends in Minneapolis in a few months. They may have lost some favor with some fans over time, but I've followed them from their start, still love their music & I'm looking forward to seeing them live again.
The sun has been out, I have been really busy and driving a lot. When this song comes on the radio, I turn it up. The first time I thought it was Springsteen - and I deja-vu'd big time. Later I recalled that I was listening to the Boss on the M8, full on, wearing shades, feeling good. I was only a 20-something nothing. Then a blonde in a cabriolet overtook me heading west, she threw me a smile I felt in my trousers, and I decided not to take the M77 cut off - we drove all the way to Greenock, overtaking each other, making faces and laughing, then I let her go before it became "something". She went off toward Bishopton, and I went round the roundabout and drove back eastwards, enjoying the sun and the Clyde estuary, and Roladexing through the many mental Polaroids of that afternoon's sun-car-rock-high-speed-flirting session. Quality Platonics. Happy Days.
