Gorgeous string arrangements prevail here, and if I'm listening properly, I believe the vast majority of everything you hear is the result of just layers and layers of violin and voice, which is pretty amazing. The song itself is quite incredible, too, making smart use of its 3/4 and 4/4 back-and-forths and building from a humble, sputtering takeoff to this energetic, soaring flight of ambition and happiness. Happiness is not a word I use lightly or often, but if there's one thing Kishi Bashi's music can capture, it's Happiness. Seriously, if you ever get a chance to see him live, he's a must.
