This jam, written by Kris Kristofferson as a young man, performed here as an older man, delivers an even greater sense of pathos. The song is so cinematographic... not simply capturing a scene or setting, but a sad story, with an easily imagined end. A sad ending? Maybe... or just story of continued perseverance, and a highly attuned sense and appreciation of the life that we walk through, stumble through, and feel sometimes too acutely the next morning.   2
