Heard this walking by a record store in Cambridge, MA a couple of weeks ago. Hadn't heard it in ages!
Terrible title. Great tune.
Just been to see Richard Ayoade's film 'The Double' which was excellent - wanted to post something from the soundtrack. The song apparently tells the story of a man who looks up and whistles while he is walking so that his tears will not fall. It is one of the best selling singles of all time (but I had never heard it!); Kyu Sakamoto sadly died in a plane crash in 1985 along with 519 others...

Was just reminded of this song. I used to listen to my mother's 45 of it when I was younger.
