My summer wine is really made of all these things.
The "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" covers this Lee Hazlewood tune, which Suzi Jane Hokom liked to sing before the "actual Nancy Sinatra" stuck it through with the heel of one sleek white, knee-high pump and made it hers for walking. Lana really does sound like Nancy Sinatra (excepting her car-won't-start Marilyn tremolo (Monroemolo?)). Not showing off much "gangsta" here, though. Her boyfriend Barrie-James O'Neill joins her, former frontman of Scottish alt-folk band Kassidy, calling himself NiGHTMARE BOY as of yesterday, and he's suitably American Western. Wanted to get this ditty in now, before a wine of strawberries, cherries and angel smooches should embarrass itself next to a full-bodied autumn spirit, and August is like one long Sunday to me, so Del Rey's pathological melancholy sounded appropriate.
Every time I Hear Lana Del Rey I feel excited, I go into a trance listening to her, I love her unique smokey voice. No matter what mood I'm in Lana Del Rey makes everything better. I love #lanadelrey
I can't get this song out of my head.
This is a great cover.
Excellent cover. Was just thinking of the original the other day!
