Strange Angels by Laurie Anderson

Salvadore’s jam on 15 Sep ’13 and then once after that (See all)

“This is my last jam! It's been fun and I have to thank all of you fellow jammers for sharing the LOVE of music. Been here two and a half years and will continue jamming at Let's Loop, Nusiki or God's Jukebox. I hope we'll meet again over there! For the archives a list of my jams: http://nopaste.nl/w60I3KZSle Looking back just leaves me with positive thoughts and it also made me wonder "how did I get here?". Well, more or less by coincidence. I'm not a very active uploader on Vimeo/YouTube, I mainly just wanted to know how things work (make/edit a music-video, upload it, etc.). After a while I noticed one of my uploads had been embedded on a site called #ThisIsMyJam. Had to check it out … and once I checked in, I couldn't leave anymore ;-) I'll end my jam-tour with this song that caused my entrance. Strange Angels led me to this jamming place "who were singing just for me", or at least that's the story Laurie has been telling… and I like to believe that. #ThanksTIMJ

Laurie Anderson, forever branded by that (ugly) Superman-song dividing listeners in either lovers or haters. Many don't even know anything else from her, but she made so much more. With her enchanting voice she can sing and talk you through a song like an angel with such beautiful sense for melody, rhythm and sound. "Here they come, here they come … Strange Angels … singing just for me"   20

Just love her lyrics and great sense of humor.   1

Brought to you by the realization that my hairstyle lately involves drying and messing with it until it looks like Strange Angels Laurie Anderson, and then backing off just a bit. 1989 Laurie Anderson is the new routine 2013.

Homeland (2010) and Big Science (1982) are good albums to start with if you are unfamiliar with her material.   21
