You Don't Own Me by Lesley Gore
“So sad to hear of the passing of Lesley Gore. Man. Though this track was probably most famous to my generation as the "theme" from the film "The First Wives Club," this performance from '64 is spellbinding and definitive. Her voice and presence transform from a timid nervous quaver to commanding, vamping sass over the course of the first verse and the downright Lynchian camera work doesn't hurt things either. The band sounds RAUNCHY and almost dangerous. I get chills every time I watch it. Thanks for this one Leslie.”

Remembering Lesley Gore with this extra sassy live version of "You Don't Own Me."
