It's summer. It's hot. This is the perfect song for now AND then. Had no idea what a "karamu" was.. it's a feast during the African American Kwanzaa celebration. Food and drinks. I'm down with that. Whenever I hear this song it takes me back to my teens when nothing I ever did seemed to be right, but this song told me it didn't matter. You just be the best you that you can be and enjoy your life. For three minutes I could ignore I was an awkward kid who couldn't get the girl or couldn't figure out fractions or had no plans for the rest of my life. Just let the universe do its thing. Shame I couldn't hold on to that attitude when the song was over. I dare you to explore YouTube for the many covers of All Night Long that others have done over the (can you believe it?) 30 years since Lionel Richie first recorded it, and also the live versions he's performed in recent years. I think when he sings this, it takes him back in time too, for a little bit of then catching up to the now.   5
