“Remembered as the spark that lit the LL Cool J vs Canibus fire, this song is still dope to me. I remember they performed it on the Apollo (minus Canibus), and it was like the Beatles on Sullivan. Was a great time where Def Jam just was on top of the world. Anyway, love the lyrics on this and obviously the aggression LL had after hearing what Canibus said (which looking back was SO OBVIOUSLY not a diss, but a joke). Was also a nice time for DMX where he could prove he was as lyrical as anyone else in the game (at the time).”
