No artist in 2013 made me more excited for the state of modern music than Lorde did and her debut album "Pure Heroine" is the best I've heard since "xx". Tennis Court was going to occupy this spot in the countdown, but then my brother reminded me of Ribs and it was no contest. The beautiful sparseness of the production coupled with the breathless anxiety of the lyrics is just haunting. #bestof2013
