Earlier this summer I heard this song coming out of a restaurant and was sufficiently intrigued to pick up the album when I saw it at a clearance sale last month, even though I've never been a fan of Louisiana songwriter Williams. This is the most upbeat song on what's a slow-burning, world-weary record that has a very live-in-the-studio feel; I enjoy it all very much. I'll probably end up getting her new one that comes out in a couple of weeks and doing the inevitable trawl through her back catalog (the only other record of hers that I've bought is Car Wheels on a Gravel Road 16 years ago).
