I should be at her concert tonight. Gutted I am missing this classic.
Melissa Etheridge who I think is not only an incredible songwriter but could pack so much urgency and passion in her voice, was never really given her due for being an great artist. I think in a lot of ways she was homogenized by the media as that “gay singer” (an identity she accepted and used willingly), which I think due to how people categorize music took away from the fact that she was just a great artist in general.
Can I survive all the implications? Even if I tried, could you be less than an addiction?
