Tastes Like Medicine by Menace Beach

luciabartlam’s jam on 26 Jan ’15 and then once after that (See all)

“This song takes me back to being 16, jumping round in circles in the dark in my bedroom with headphones in and the volume on 11. Back then, it would have been the early Deathcab albums, when they were still an angry garage band, but this is that pyschy-er, scuzzier garage pop that people like Tokyo Police Club, NODZZZ, Waaves, and Pulled Apart By Horses do, but even more poppy and addictive. Like when the Cribs were good, but better. Produced by MJ off of Hookworms, who are also all over my eardums (and the airwaves) at the minute - it's a good time for music coming from basement studios in Leeds - and massively good for them, as I happen to know they're all bloody nice blokes.”
